Dr. Walls is the Scientific Director at Concept Fertility and is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at the University of Western Australia (UWA). She is a CMLS-accredited Clinical Scientist with over 18 years of industry expertise in IVF laboratories across WA. She earned her Doctorate from the UWA in 2016, with her award-winning research focusing on In Vitro Maturation (IVM).
Dr. Walls is also a co-leader of the RAINE Foundation Hormonal and Reproduction Special Interest Group, the Lead Immigration Skills Assessor for IVF Scientists with the Australian Institute of Medical and Clinical Scientists (AIMS) and a member of the WA Health Department Pre-Implantation Genetic Testing (PGT) Committee. She is a technical expert assessor for the National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) and an active member of Fertility Society of Australia and New Zealand (FSANZ) and Scientists in Reproductive Technology (SIRT). She has published numerous articles in high-impact journals, such as Human Reproduction, and has authored several textbook chapters. She is deeply committed to advancing reproductive science and actively supports research and student mentorship at Concept.
Mel was also an IVF patient, so she is passionate about the patient experience and very lucky to be a mum to Elsie and Finn.
