Jen is the General Manager and Director of Nursing at Concept Fertility and Day Hospital and has also coordinated the surrogacy program at Concept for the last five years.
After completing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Jen began her career at Royal Perth Hospital in 1998. Since then, Jen’s career has taken her interstate and overseas, with roles ranging in bedside care, to corporate positions and hospital redevelopment.
Following further studies in management and human resource management, Jen’s career transitioned into healthcare leadership and management. She’s passionate about cultivating a positive workplace culture and believes that when workplaces are respectful, collaborative, and united by a shared vision, they can achieve remarkable outcomes. Such teams consistently exceed patient expectations and provide exceptional patient care at every interaction. Jen sees her role as developing and mentoring the team offering them opportunities to enhance their skills, foster autonomy, and build mutual trust.
With over 26 years of nursing experience, Jen has worked across many areas of healthcare, but fertility has proven to be the most significant and exciting challenge thus far. Jen is passionate about the role, and proud of the exceptional team she has developed and is excited by plans to continue growing in the future.
Concept has taught her a great deal about the day hospital space and the unique challenges faced by the industry. It has also connected her with a wonderful network of like-minded professionals from across the country, and Jen especially enjoys the camaraderie this creates. Jen is currently the WA Chapter Chair for Day Hospitals Australia.
