Pregnancy results for Concept Fertility Centre compared to the latest (2008) national Australian average taken from the 2008 National Perinatal Statistics Unit report. These are clinical pregnancies (fetal heart present) for embryo transfer procedures done at Concept 2008 to 2010. Pregnancy rates can be affected by a number of factors including the age of the female partner and the number of embryos transferred. At Concept there is no upper age limit for access to IVF provided the female is not menopausal and the couple have received counselling regarding their lower chance of success. In 2010, 30% of female patients at Concept were aged over 40 years. From 2008 to the present over 80% of embryo transfer procedures at Concept are of a single embryo. This has reduced the number of twin pregnancies which remains below 2% in 2010. The single embryo transfer policy has been implemented without impacting on the pregnancy rates and as indicated in the graph the pregnancy rate has increased since 2008.
